Stone Mountain State Park was the 26th North Carolina State Park we visited on our journey to visit all 41 parks in the state. We visited in late June and it was HOT. Looking back after visiting all 41 parks, it was the hottest day of all the parks we went to. THANKfully we got to swim in the waterfall at the end of the day, which the kids LOVED. Water was cold, but definitely refreshing.
Not sure where we would place this park exactly but it is in our top 5 favorite parks in North Carolina. Lots of hiking, cool historic sites, mountain, stream and waterfall swimming. You can't beat it.
