Dismal Swamp State Park was the 21st state park we visited on our journey. The thing that stood out most to the kids was having to cross over a bridge to get to the park office! It was like a castle moat 🙂 We did a short hike on the trail next to the park office, but didn't attempt the longer trail into the swamp, which requires some sort of hiking permit. The swamp was quite beautiful albeit a little buggy. We didn't hang out long on the trail but did spend some time in the park office was well put together. Would be a great park to return for kayaking or a longer day hike when the kids are older.
