Mayo River State Park was the 14th state park we visited on our journey. What started out as a warmer day (shorts weather), turned cold really quick. That's why we love North Carolina 🙂 The park has a quaint parks office with a wood burning stove for heat where the park ranger of course stamped our passports. We then explored one of the trails which turned out to be super muddy so we turned back after a little but. Liam discovered a huge fireplace in the pavilion there which, in itself, was a pretty cool sight to see. I can imagine this park being awesome in the summer, with drier trails.
