Pettigrew State Park was the 23rd state park we visited on our journey. Met the nicest ranger who directed us to where to get the stamp on the outside of the park office since it was closed that day for training. Not really a visitor center here, but a fantastic picnic area. There was a really cool tree with a hole in the truck that the kiddos played on for a bit before we headed to see the lake. There are a couple hiking trails which we peeked at but didn't spend a ton of time on them since we were tired from a long weekend of state parks and spending time on Ocracoke Island. If you live near this park it's a beautiful place to visit!
